it's back to school time -- i had my first classes yesterday. and, although i started the day feeling calm and refreshed, i couldnt help feel a little nervous stepping back into my critique class. i think no matter how prepared and confident you feel, critique has a way of unnerving you.
before classes began this week, there was an orientation for new students last week. during orientation, there's usually a presentation by SVA MFA, photo, alumni. this year Maureen Drennan, Alison Brady and Allison Kaufman presented their work. i jumped into the presentation just to have a peek at the work & hear the artists speak. it was inspiring to hear what alumni from my program had to say about creating and working on a body of work for a thesis project. i'm hoping to have mine nailed down by winter this year...
