an unexpected holiday
today the city of new york has slowed a bit -- at least in my neck of the woods. due to the blizzardish conditions, school was closed and i have an impromptu holiday. the image posted is the complete antithesis of my day -- soft, warm, cozy.
what i love most about new york, so far, is the snow. the drifts and piles transform the city into a wild place, softening new york's ugly edges. the blanketed city feels new to me. it's quiet in the snow and beautiful. . . .one of my school's alums is featured in vice magazine this month. see Johanna Heldebro's project To Come Within Reach of You.
